Believe me GOA is some place which many people procrastinate
thinking about the expenses, but if you ask me you can always plan a budget
trip. Due to my frequent travel to different places expenses are something I
need to keep in control.I am a budget traveler unlike many who spend extravagantly
just to travel to one place.
Goa is in the western coast line of India and the adjoining
states will be Maharashtra and Karnataka. Unless you are going by flight you
should know the best road routes to the place. From Mangalore which also falls
in the Konkan coast GOA is almost 350KM by road and 425KM by train (aprox).I
took a train route as Konkan railways passes via whole coastal line and best
travel could be enjoying the scenic beauty of this coastline. The travel time
should not exceed 6 hours however in some trains this might be a problem. An
early morning train would be a best as one can enjoy the scenes and land in Goa
in morning. Most trains from Mangalore go only till Mudgaon which is near south
Goa.
Like any geographic divisons GOA is divided into North,
south and I hope you know the rest. Well North Goa is the most popular spot for
tourist due to its connecting beaches. North GOA has four popular beaches and
as per popularity order they would be Calanguate,Baga,Condolium and Anjuna
(stone beach). The markets of calanguate and baga are hot spots for shopping
and bargaining and I would suggest no one to do any advance shopping before
going to GOA. It would rather be easy to carry empty bags with very few cloths
because as per me the beaches can offer you all you need from water sports to party wear.
I stayed in Calnguate beach and would say that all beach
resorts in GOA are well maintained and one will always find all the basic
amenities available there. In fact most of the beach resorts even have their
own pools, so one need not worry about the place so much. I just called a day
before occupying the place however after landing I found that there were many
options available so I guess you should just pack your bags and leave rather
than thinking much.
A beach resort with a private beach would sound like a
cherry on a cake and trust me I enjoyed it totally. Most of the beaches in GOA
in season would start being over crowed and if you think you need more space
you should choose one with its own beach.
South Goa like north Goa also has few beaches however the
most popular amongst them is the colva beach which is a white sand beach. Another place which you may not like to miss is a dinner on
the cruise ….there are plenty available in the back waters of river Mondovi and
you can get in them in Panaji.Goa is also popular for its churches and fort… but those
would look best during Nov- Jan.Well to travel back you can always choose the best ways and
you have many options…Bus, Train and flight.
So hope u have all the fun in GOA this time............
